"Yes; virtually the entire portion west of Yonge has been proposed in various versions in the past - My suggestion is to extend it east along Kingston Road, and just keep building east to Pickering and Durham, and west to Brampton - Of course a subway of this distance would not be practical for travel between Brampton, Durham and Downtown Toronto - The intention is for it to be used for local travel between communities along the route, and to interconnect with other key rapud transit lines along the route"

"With regard to your comment about station spacing along King Street; yes the stations are too far apart to be walkable for many; I am just following the current spacing convention being used for new rapid transit lines in Toronto - The station spacing for the proposed Ontario Line is 1,105 metres (that's a bit misleading because this counts 2 long stretches spanning the Don River) - The stop spacing for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT is an average of 790 metres - My 40 km Ontario Line 2/Trillium Line is drawn with stops at a spacing of approximately 930 metres - Some other alternative (buses or shuttles) will be necessary along all of these routes - I personally debated the the spacing of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT stops with one of the Metrolinx representatives at one of the public meetings a couple of years ago and argued that buses are still going to be required along Eglinton - She acknowledged that they were aware that buses would still be required and that they were planning for it, but only along certain portions of the route - The solution would be to add more stations and double track everything with express lines each way, but this would be prohibitively expensive"

"To your first point; no; redundancy is an integral part of a good transit network; it provides options; and the UP Express and GO stations are too far apart for local service"
