Nighttime and 24 Hour Weekend Work May 11 – 14

Looks nice in theory, but it took me 17 minutes to travel from Leslie and Eglinton to Don Mills and Eglinton between 1:00 p.m. and 1:17 p.m. on Saturday - The left turn lane shown here was sectioned off with pylons, and the Eglinton right-hand eastbound lane east of Don Mills was also sectioned off - There was ABSOLUTELY NO WORK taking place along the eastbound side of Eglinton; there were ABSOLUTELY NO OBSTRUCTIONS within the cordoned off areas east or west of Don Mills Road (no cuts or openings in the pavement, no workers, no construction vehicles, no apparent hazards of any kind) – The ONLY ACTIVE WORK TAKING PLACE at the time was on the north side of Eglinton in the westbound lanes east of Don Mills Road – I thought about stopping to take photos but there was absolutely no place to pull over and stop without further impeding traffic - My take is that the contractor is demonstrating a complete lack of responsibility and consideration for vehicular traffic and the public - I called 311 and complained and was told that it would take 2 to 3 weeks to look into the matter - I find this completely unacceptable - John Tory has consistently promised to ease traffic congestion in the city - This would be a good place to start
