Relief/Ontario Line - Alignment

Jun. 2, 2019

"I agree with you on this government's disrespect for the environment, but to the best of my knowledge, with the exception of two crossings of the Don Valley and one of the West Don River, the entire line will be tunnel - All of the crossings will be elevated and below or adjacent to existing bridges, so the environmental impacts should be minimal"

"I'm not saying it's a bad idea; I just don't think it will make it through the next administration - The next provincial government will follow through with the Ontario Line along the original Relief Line route and maybe keep the Science Centre leg, but will cancel the Ontario Place leg - Let's wait and see, and I'll come back looking for you"

"Carlaw/Pape is the best alignment because it provides a jumping-off point for an extension to Don Mills and Eglinton, and then Don Mills and Sheppard - Only then will there be real relief for Line 1"
