The Project

Over the past few years, Ajax GO Station has undergone a major facelift to accommodate the ongoing growth in ridership. Between 2011 and 2012 we added approximately 500 surface parking spaces and a signalized intersection for better access to these spaces.

Since August 2013, our Ajax customers have enjoyed a new parking structure, complete with approximately 1,300 parking spaces, a new Kiss & Ride and a new pedestrian tunnel connecting it to the platform. By 2014, the platform and shelters were completely rehabilitated and a snow melt system was installed.
What's Changing

We are currently working to make it easier and safer for pedestrians, buses and cars to enter and exit the station. The new pedestrian bridge over Fairall Street will connect the north and south parking lots and separate the paths of travel for pedestrians and vehicles. The bridge will also have its own Kiss & Ride area in the south parking lot to take some of the volume away from the existing Kiss & Ride adjacent to the parking structure. The work is scheduled to be completed in early 2017.
