Quotes - SmartTrack
"Yes!!! ..... This will prove once and for all that the cancellation of the Lawrence East subway station in favour of a Lawrence East SmartTrack station was a political ploy to help John Tory justify his misguided plan for SmartTrack

I am not totally opposed to SmartTrack; some of the stations will make a valuable contribution to the overall regional transit network; but, for the most part, Metrolinx was on the right track with GO RER long before John Tory came along
My issue with Lawrence East is that a subway stop on the new Scarborough Subway Extension will better serve more riders than a GO station on what is one of the busiest bus routes in the city
If a SmartTrack station is absolutely necessary to his plan; then let him provide both"
"It’s almost like if you treat transit like a slogan instead of a network, it doesn’t work well"

"With only 3 new stops (1 Subway and 2 SmartTrack stops), SmartTrack earns a fail in its promise to provide Scarborough with 3 new Subway stops and 3 new SmartTrack stops in place of 5 existing SRT stops"

"John Tory recognizes that an extension of the Bloor-Danforth subway is the right way to go - It's unfortunate that he has decided to drop two of the subway stops to help justify his SmartTrack - $1 billion of the $4 billion being wasted on SmartTrack would cover the cost of the two dropped subway stations and leave $3 billion for the Crosstown East LRT and the Relief Line Subway"
