Scarborough - LRT vs Subway

"Not quite – Admittedly, all decisions made on the transit file are politically motivated; but, an extension of the Bloor-Danforth line was in the works until David Miller proposed Transit City with LRTs in place of subways in 2007 – The extension of the Bloor-Danforth line was resurrected by Karen Stintz as part of her proposal for OneCity [which included “Express” lines between Steeles and Union Station, and between Pearson Airport and Union Station, along GO tracks (similar to Tory’s SmartTrack)] until it was killed in 2012 – In 2013 City Council again agreed that extending the Bloor-Danforth line would best serve the transit needs of Scarborough – It was only last year that City Council voted to drop two stops from the SSE, thus reducing it’s feasibility and crippling it’s chance of surviving the whims of the next election"
