Scarborough - LRT vs Subway

"Not FAR cheaper - The Eglinton Crosstown serves as proof that there is not much difference in cost between LRTs and subways - Subways average about $300 to 400 million/km - The TYSSE is at $302 million/km– The 3-stop SSE was originally going to cost $440 million/km - The Eglinton Crosstown LRT is running at $279 million/km – Replacing the SRT with an LRT is not going to be cheap – The cost to replace the SRT with an LRT was estimated to be about 78% of the cost of a subway which equates to about $310 million/km"
