Overview

Metrolinx is working with the City of Toronto, the TTC, the Regional Municipality of York and the York Region Rapid Transit Corporation to continue planning, design and engineering work on the Yonge subway extension, which will connect more people to transit in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

Overview

With over 34 kilometres of dedicated lanes for express bus service along Highway 7, Yonge Street and Davis Drive, this project will provide fast, reliable and comfortable service to residents of York Region. The first section of this project came into service August 2013; the last section will be in service in 2018.

Overview

A portion of the extension will run through Toronto from the Downsview TTC subway station to Steeles Avenue, crossing into York Region and terminating at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. Metrolinx is working with the TTC to build a bus terminal that will be serviced by the GO Transit and York Region Transit at the Highway 407 TTC subway station. Once completed, the bus terminal will be owned by Metrolinx.
