On the Hamilton LRT "the proposed route would KILL motor vehicle traffic on our best "east-west" ...

"This is why I think Rob Ford was on the right track for Toronto - Toronto has many arterial roads for travelling east-west within the city, but; with the size of the city and the amount of traffic congestion, every one of those routes needs to be at maximum operating capacity - The Eglinton LRT will kill Eglinton Avenue as one of the best options for getting across the city; with roads tolls, the issue will be magnified – For those that argue that cars will be replaced by some other form of new technology, wait; wait until that technology exists and traffic dies down; then shut down the roads and build your new surface routes"
