Subway Expansions (and Other Transit Improvements)

Dec. 5, 2018

Instead of fighting over LRT versus subway versus bus, we should be opting for the technology and mode of transit that best suits the route and the traveller, writes Royson James - BERNARD WEIL / TORONTO STAR

"We can all talk until we are blue in the face - The city and the province are limited in what they can do because they have neglected transit for so long; they can only afford to do so much to try and catch up - The best we can hope for in the way of subways within the next 10 to 15 years are; the Relief Line, the SSE, hopefully an extension of the Sheppard East to Scarborough Centre, and (if York Region can be convincing enough) an extension of Line 1 to Richmond Hill; the rest will be LRTs and BRTs for now and into the foreseeable future"
