Too Many Rapid Transit Proposals (But Few Solutions)
Residential and Civil Construction Alliance of Ontario (RCCAO) - Published on Sep 23, 2014
The concept for this four-part video series was developed by David Crowley who, as a semi-retired senior transportation consultant, had access to 25 years’ worth of Transportation Tomorrow Survey data. Having worked across Canada and internationally, he could not understand why the transit successes in other places have not been replicated here in the Toronto Region. Mr. Crowley’s analysis, supported by the Data Management Group at the University of Toronto, has been peer reviewed by a small team of advisors, including Dr. Richard M. Soberman, Professor Emeritus, University of Toronto Civil Engineering, A.R. Gordon, former Director of Transportation Planning, Metropolitan Toronto, and Edward J. Levy, Senior Consultant, BA Group, transportation engineers.
Stephen Wickens, a veteran urban affairs reporter with a passion for Toronto transit, is the narrator of the series. The videos were produced by Nik Blumish.
Funding for this project was provided by the Residential and Civil Construction Alliance of Ontario. RCCAO has commissioned a number of independent research studies on Transit & Transportation which can be found at http://www.rccao.com/research/default...
It is our hope that the facts and ideas in this series will inspire people to act. Your voice needs to be heard on how the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area can deliver transit in more effective ways. Please contact elected officials and candidates to express your views on the topics put forward in this video series.
