TTC to Remove Island Stops from Streetcar Routes

St. Clair Streetcar Route

Work on raising the St. Clair Streetcar tracks started in 2005 http://transit.toronto.on.ca/streetcar/4126.shtml - It was originally going to be an LRT - I predict that once the Eglinton Crosstown LRT is complete and fully operational, they might return the tracks on St. Clair to grade level – The reason is that the LRT stops are so far apart, they will still need buses to pick up and drop off passengers between stops on Eglinton – You just wait and see! – Once people realize that they will still be sharing the roads with buses, and; in the case where the LRTs are on the surface with dedicated right-of-ways, sharing the remaining lanes with buses and bicycles, subways will be the favoured mode of transit once again!
