The Scarborough RT

"It was originally going to be a streetcar line - The only reason the RT was built was to showcase the UTDC's new technology back in the early 80's - Selling the new ICTS system was going to be difficult for a province with a city the size of Toronto that didn't show enough faith to use their own technology - So; after correcting problems and spending $223 million (more than cost as a subway extension would have cost), Scarborough got the RT; an inferior line that has cost riders almost $1 billion in lost time over the past 30 years - Politics at it's finest!"
